The Cleveland National Air Show has established itself as one of the most well-established and prestigious annual aviation events in the United States, rooted in a rich aviation tradition that has endured for decades along the shores of Lake Erie. Held annually during Labor Day weekend, this major event takes place at Burke Lakefront Airport, right in the heart of downtown Cleveland, Ohio. It draws a large crowd of spectators who come to admire world-class aerial displays in a unique urban setting, right next to iconic landmarks such as the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
This major aviation gathering offers three action-packed days of aerial and ground festivities. At the heart of the program, spectators can enjoy the famous U.S. Navy Blue Angels, along with military aircraft demonstrations, spectacular aerial acrobatics, and parachute jumps. The show isn’t limited to the skies: on the ground, visitors can watch an unusual race between a jet-powered truck and an airplane right on the runway, explore interactive exhibits, get an up-close look at unique aircraft on display, and enjoy detailed commentary throughout the event.
Organized by a nonprofit and supported by a large community of volunteers as well as all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, this event is the largest military gathering in northeastern Ohio. In addition to celebrating aviation culture and supporting local charities, the air show offers a memorable experience for aviation enthusiasts of all ages, combining the power of jet engines with the precision of aerial maneuvers over the shores of Lake Erie.
