Held at the Cerny airfield in La Ferté-Alais in the Essonne department, Le Temps des Hélices has become, over the years, a must-see event in the European airshow season. Launched in 1970 by aviation enthusiasts united under the Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis in collaboration with the Aéro-Club de France, this traditional Pentecost event offers a memorable journey through the history of aviation.
The venue welcomes spectators for an exceptional weekend filled with a rich and varied program of activities. Each morning, the public can enjoy a static display that allows them to get up close to the aircraft, chat with pilots and mechanics, and discover various ground activities such as autograph sessions, parades of vintage motorcycles and cars, as well as performances by historical reenactment groups.
In the afternoon, the event continues with a grand air show lasting over five hours. About a hundred civilian and military aircraft take to the skies in themed displays retracing the history of aviation, from the days of the pioneers to the latest-generation aircraft. This unique spectacle also stands out for its ground activities and fireworks display, which leave a lasting impression on young and old alike.
