The air show, an annual event and the museum's main fundraiser, will this year feature the theme "A Flight Through Time: Legends of the Sky", according to a promotional release from SAAF.

The air show will take place at its usual venue between what was the SAAF gymnasium at Valhalla to the west, the N1 to the east and the SAAF memorial at Bays Hill to the north with one difference. The name Air Force Base (AFB) Swartkop has disappeared and is replaced by Air Force Mobile Deployment Wing, which now houses the SAAF museum and headquarters as well as 17 Squadron and its Agusta A109 and Oryx rotorcraft.
