The Shuttleworth: Flying Proms, held at Old Warden Airfield in the United Kingdom, offers a unique experience that combines the art of aerial acrobatics with the power of a large live symphony orchestra. This exceptional event combines the beauty of aerial choreography performed by historic and civilian aircraft with the melodies of the National Symphony Orchestra, all culminating in a spectacular closing fireworks display.
On August 15, 2026, gates will open at 10:00 a.m. so visitors can enjoy the ground-based activities. Visitors will be able to explore Shuttleworth’s collection of historic aircraft and vehicles, tour the home of founder Richard Shuttleworth, stroll through the magnificent Swiss Garden, or ride vintage buses. The air show is scheduled to begin at approximately 6:50 p.m. and end around 8:40 p.m., before the gates close at 10:00 p.m. The aerial lineup will feature, among others, the Global Stars aerobatic team (using LED lights for the occasion), a Letov LF-107 Lunak glider, and a Douglas C-47 Dakota from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, alongside numerous aircraft from the collection such as the Spitfire VC, the DH.88 Comet, and the Westland Lysander.
