The Acrobats

The Acrobats patrol is made up of two aerobatic aircraft: a Pitts S-2 and an Extra 260. The Pitts Special is a biplane aerobatic aircraft designed by Curtis Pitts, which has accumulated more competition victories than any other aircraft since its first flight in 1944. The Pitts Special dominated competition in the 1960s and 1970s and, even in the early 21st century, remains an effective aircraft in lower categories. Born at an airshow in 2015, The Acrobats came into being thanks to the friendship of its two pilots, Franck Soubrane and Eddy Dussau. A 20-year partnership. As members of the same aerobatics team, they trained together but followed two different career paths. After a career in competition, Franck continued to fly and take part in airshows. Eddy put aerobatics on hold for 10 years. Their paths crossed once again at one of Franck's airshows in 2012. Eddy naturally joined him again. These two paths that had come so close so many times, naturally and finally took the same direction in 2015 to become The Acrobats!
