The Patrouille de France makes a historic flypast over the Statue of Liberty

On June 9, 2026, the Patrouille de France carried out an exceptional flypast over the Statue of Liberty in New York as part of the "Liberté 250" mission, organized to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence. The eight Alpha Jets crossed the New York skyline trailing their iconic blue, white and red smoke, creating spectacular scenes above one of the world's most famous landmarks.

The flypast paid tribute to the longstanding friendship between France and the United States, with the Statue of Liberty remaining one of the strongest symbols of the historic ties between the two nations. Before arriving in New York, the team also flew over the United States Military Academy at West Point.

The Patrouille de France's American tour continues through early July, with several flypasts scheduled across different states. Supported by an Airbus A400M and two spare aircraft, the mission involves nearly 85 military personnel.

This flypast over the Statue of Liberty will undoubtedly remain one of the highlights of the Patrouille de France's 2026 season and a powerful symbol of the friendship between France and the United States.
