North East Lincolnshire’s Armed Forces weekend (AFD26) will be held on June 26th, 27th & 28th and will keep the UK Armed Forces Community (Serving military, reservists, veterans and cadets with their families) in the PUBLIC EYE. We are organising and will deliver a series of build-up attractions to truly promote CIVIL/MILITARY integration and for the day have a full programme including parades, entertainment, flying displays and capability demonstrations to capture and build on public support for our armed forces community and raise awareness of the vital works done by the UK Armed Forces across the Globe. This event will also demonstrate through very large public attendance the true resilience of the United Kingdom and our ability to recover confidence in hosting large public events in a safe and friendly environment at Cleethorpes. AFD26 flags will be raised on all major public buildings across the Borough for 14 days. A full programme of totally inclusive events to promote all our Armed Forces will be delivered to attract and secure the best possible integration between our civil and military communities. We will again encourage street parties and other alfresco events around and in the main activity areas to ensure veterans, cadets, servicemen and women with the general public can meet safely.
